Job Duties: - The ABC Quality Coordinator II manages the comprehensive background check and health/safety inspection process for license-exempt providers participating in ABC Quality in the Division of Early Care and Education at SCDSS. Manages incoming complaints from child care providers, parents and the general public. Ensures the effective and efficient service delivery of early care and education programs through special projects as assigned and serves as a support role for the adverse actions process and provider business policies and procedures.
- Provides management of the statewide background check and health/safety inspection process for license-exempt child care programs participating in ABC Quality, including central registry, FBI/SLED check and Sex Offender Check. Manages the intake of Health-Safety Inspections and requirements for parental information sharing on SC Child Care website. Collaborates with Child Care Licensing to resolve issues.
- Manages intake of complaints for ABC Quality. Provides direction and management of program issues and complaint resolution, interfacing with management, Quality Assessors, and other internal entities at SCDSS. Serves as trouble-shooter for complex service problems.
- Conducts special projects as assigned to enhance the statewide service delivery system for providers/clients. Presents management reports on projects.
- Serves on management team for adverse actions, including corrective action plans, appeals, terminations and updates/changes to provider business procedures and other relevant documents to support the implementation of state, federal policies, procedures and regulations.
- Conducts analysis of data needs from the SCDSS integrated system as it relates to comprehensive background checks. Makes reports and recommendations.
- Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty or services as directed.
Minimum and Additional Requirements A Bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.
Preferred Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of professional experience in social services programs, correctional, educational, business administration, general administrative management, or relevant program experience.
