We are seeking an entrepreneurial, results-oriented thinker. You have strong project management skills and have the ability to tightly manage multiple workstreams and hold an integrated team (including internal and external resources) accountable. The ability to deliver a high level of client service and team leadership, along with needle-moving results in the delivery of fully integrated programs, will be key to success in this role. You are a newshound, and you see just as much potential in earned media, as owned, paid and integrated marketing.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As Account Director, you will be focused on supporting and/ or leading several accounts under the guidance of more seasoned client services team members, with activities to include:

Client Service :

● Under the guidance of a seasoned senior lead, serve as the day-to-day client lead; taking a leadership role in executing against a communications plan by managing client communication, workflow, internal stakeholders and junior team members.

● Provide counsel and direction to clients, showing a keen understanding of the media landscape and business needs.

● Develop and execute media relations, thought leadership, executive visibility, speakers’ bureau programs, and social media and influencer marketing programs.

● Create PR plans and materials for client announcements and news, including press releases, talking points and messaging documents that provide a strategic point of view.

● Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets and influencers at top-tier business, trade, consumer/lifestyle, broadcast outlets and social media platforms.

● Identify newsworthy trends through active monitoring of key media in order to provide meaningful recommendations on story ideas that will generate coverage and buzz.

● Effectively writing social media content and facilitating social media community engagement.

● Generate creative ideas and facilitate high-level media opportunities to help lead multiple client programs simultaneously. Lead or support strategic communications by delivering long-form writing and bylines for your client which can lead to potential organic growth.

● Maintain in-depth knowledge of clients’ industries, anticipating and addressing opportunities and issues as they arise.

● Participate in new business development and agency marketing initiatives.

EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES

● 6+ years’ experience in B2B Public Relations and/or Corporate Communications, ideally for an advertising/media/ marketing agency; PR agency experience strongly preferred

● Bachelor’s or advanced degree

● Compelling communicator and relationship builder with an entrepreneurial mindset

● A strategic self-starter with the ability to work well under pressure

● Strong acumen and passion for PR along with a winning attitude and a desire to build and grow client business

●   Experience creating and executing successful PR strategies to support clients through strategic positioning and messaging

●   Mastery of all the foundational skills one would expect at this level, including working in a fast-paced environment; delivering on multiple deadlines; high-caliber writing; active listening and attention to detail; and familiarity and comfort with digital and social media

Salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $80-$95k
