We are a leading service provider specializing in offering support to cannabis companies across the globe. Our team operates remotely with key hubs in Serbia and Mexico, and we are now seeking talent in Los Angeles to join us in a hybrid capacity. We are passionate about innovation, collaboration, and providing our clients with top-tier services to help them succeed in the evolving cannabis industry.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager with specific expertise in the cannabis industry to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will be based in Los Angeles and work in a hybrid setup, splitting time between remote work and our local office. You will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely payments, maintaining customer relationships, and improving cash flow management. Your cannabis industry expertise will help streamline operations, mitigate risks, and support our clients in the fast-growing sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the entire accounts receivable (AR) process, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing and collections.
  • Work closely with clients in the cannabis industry to maintain positive relationships and ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.
  • Monitor AR aging reports, identify delinquent accounts, and initiate collections efforts while adhering to industry regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve AR processes, reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), and enhance cash flow management.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile AR accounts, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyze and monitor AR performance metrics and present findings to management with actionable insights.
  • Stay updated on cannabis industry regulations and ensure that AR processes comply with applicable laws and financial guidelines.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting related to accounts receivable.
  • Manage a small team of AR specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and support as needed.

Requirements

  • Location Requirement: Candidates must be based in Los Angeles, USA, and available for hybrid work (office and remote).
  • Cannabis Industry Experience: 3+ years of experience working in the cannabis industry with a focus on accounts receivable or a similar financial role.
  • Proven experience in AR management, including invoicing, collections, reconciliation, and cash flow optimization.
  • Strong understanding of cannabis industry regulations, including taxation, compliance, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with accounting and financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms).
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to improve AR performance.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing or mentoring a team.
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote environment with excellent time management and self-motivation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automated AR software and systems.
  • Knowledge of multi-state cannabis operations, including differing regulatory and financial environments.
  • Ability to work across multiple time zones with global teams.

Benefits

  • Hybrid work model offering flexibility and in-office collaboration.
  • Be part of a growing, innovative company at the forefront of the cannabis industry.
  • Work in a collaborative environment that encourages curiosity, persistence, and innovation.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunities for growth and advancement within a rapidly expanding sector.
