BLT is seeking an Affordable Housing Manager to join our team! This position leads all aspects of compliance with the affordability requirements of our Connecticut apartment portfolio.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Affordable Housing Manager:

  • Oversee the administration of the affordable and income-restricted portion of BLT’s Connecticut multifamily portfolio
  • Ensure full compliance with the Stamford Below Market Rate (BMR) and Norwalk Workforce Housing (WFH) programs.
  • Create and manage waitlists for both Stamford and Norwalk portfolios
  • Draft and execute leases and all necessary contract paperwork
  • Available to meet prospects on site to complete property tours
  • Ensure full occupancy is continuously maintained in affordable units
  • Perform income certification and credit/criminal background checks for all prospective residents and schedule screening interviews
  • Perform annual reporting and recertifications for existing residents
  • Coordinate move in dates with property management team

 

Requirements of the Position of  Affordable Housing Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in affordable housing compliance
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Meticulous record keeping and organizational skills
  • Applicant must be able to meet physical requirements to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting and presenting property
  • Successful candidates should possess excellent time management and problem-solving skills
  • Must display a high level of integrity and professionalism at all times in dealing with residents, prospects, employees and outside contacts.
