Electrical Controls Designer

Apple Valley, MN | Direct Hire | Hybrid | $70k - $90k

Position Summary :
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Designer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with engineers to determine project specifications, design technical wiring drawings, and create electrical cabinet layouts. This position requires proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and a solid understanding of electrical schematics.

Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with engineers to define project requirements.
• Design and create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layout drawings using AutoCAD Electrical software.
• Ensure designs meet engineering specifications and project guidelines.
• Work closely with the electrical assembly department to implement and document any field changes in the drawings.
• Manage and maintain symbol libraries for projects as needed.
• Review and check drawings for accuracy, making sure they are error-free and meet all project requirements.
• Stay current with industry trends, new developments in electrical systems, and best practices.

Requirements :

• Degree in electrical drafting, drafting design, electrical engineering, or a related field, or a minimum of five years' experience in electrical drafting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and experience in creating detailed electrical schematics and layouts.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to review your work for errors and ensure high-quality, accurate drawings.
• Ability to adapt to new developments in electrical systems and best practices.
