POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Systems Manager is responsible for providing Tiers 1 and 2 support towards the operations and maintenance of the computer, network and telephone systems for the Center. This position is accountable for providing a high degree of customer service to Center staff and students in supporting and maintaining the Windows desktop environments, Center computer lab environments, and the interoperability with Corporate IT resources.
The IT specialist is also responsible for providing and supporting project level work as assigned by Corporate IT and/or the F&A Director, and will encompass the research, configuration, deployment and maintenance of proof of concepts that facilitate the technological advancement and stability of the computing environment.
MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISION
This position may supervise IT Assistant positions and/or Job Corps' Work-Based Learning and Leisure Time Student Workers assigned to the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
o Provides computer support in strict accordance with the Us Department of Labor, Job Corps Center, and Adams and Associates, Inc. Corporate IT Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
o Maintains confidentiality of data, in strict accordance with FERPA guidelines and policy
o Identify, analyze, research, diagnose and resolve technical problems for Windows computers, printers, mobile devices, and phones
o Successfully completes goals as assigned
o Track, respond to, resolve and document solutions to customer requests and issues using help desk software
o Actively communicate with end users on the status of issues that they have input into the help desk system
o Provide technical assistance for projects as assigned by Corporate IT and/or the F&A Director
o Maintain IT asset inventory and related documentation on all network devices, Center staff computers, student lab computers, mobile devices and telephony devices
o Provide functional software training for Center staff and students, as defined by Corporate IT and/or the Center F&A Director
o Perform miscellaneous office support duties, which includes but is not limited to organizing file cabinets, general filing, assembling and installing office equipment, and other duties as assigned
o Other duties as assigned.

o Ability to determine computer problems and to coordinate hardware and/or software solutions

o Ability to determine the nature of computer hardware and systems software problems, and to communicate technical guidance and information to users
o Ability to learn and support new hardware, software and operating systems

o Operating Systems: Windows XP / Windows 7
o Applications: Citrix, Microsoft Office, Deep Freeze, Zendesk, SharePoint
o Network: Cisco VPN, Wireless Technologies

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
o Associates degree from an accredited school in Information Technology, or a related field. Four- years of full-time, professional IT Support experience will also fulfill this requirement, in addition to the two+ years of required experience
o Two+ years of systems, network and computer support experience in a professional office environment
o Experience supporting and maintaining Windows desktops and laptops
o Experience supporting and maintaining student computer lab environments
o Working knowledge of local area (LAN) and wide area (WAN) networking using TCP/IP
o Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws, including FERPA and HIPAA
