JOB SUMMARY

GCC seeks to add a Union Paving Foreman to our team of skilled and dedicated staff. The Paving Foreman plans, coordinates, and manages onsite paving crew (asphalt/blacktop) to meet the daily and weekly goals for maximum productivity while maintaining budgetary constraints. Solid communication and interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines. Can help with entry into union.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Oversee the progress of paving/road construction sites.
• The intermediary between workers and supervisors.
• Scheduling and planning the paving work for the day.
• Assigning tasks to field employees.
• Utilizing the correct machinery at the job site
• Making sure the paving project is being completed in a timely matter.
• Overseeing and implementing health and safety procedures on the job.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

3-5+ years of experience as a Paving Foreman. Knowledge of job sites, crews, heavy civil construction, and paving projects.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-employment background screening investigation results that are acceptable to GCC at GCC’s sole discretion.

• Reference and prior work verification.
• Drug/alcohol test (negative test results).
• Background/security clearance.
