Akira Technologies is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Jira Administrator to support the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer (CDAO) in advancing mission analytics capabilities. This role focuses on managing and configuring Jira to meet evolving mission requirements, conducting essential infrastructure changes, and ensuring project schemas are updated and validated regularly.

The role is predominantly remote with occasional onsite meetings in the DC Metro Area. This role supports a DoD client, hence security clearance is required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrator for Jira, overseeing the creation, configuration, and maintenance of projects, workflows, and user permissions.
  • Regularly monitor and maintain the Jira environment to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Conduct required infrastructure changes, including setting up new projects, configuring project settings, and updating project schemas as needed.
  • Validate project schemas regularly to ensure alignment with mission analytics requirements and organizational governance standards.
  • Collaborate with mission analytics teams to design and configure Jira solutions that enhance data tracking, analysis, and reporting.
  • Create and manage custom dashboards, filters, and queries to provide actionable insights for mission analytics efforts.
  • Develop and manage Jira workflows, screens, and fields to support operational needs and streamline processes.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance Jira functionality and user experience through automations and integrations.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, and best practices for Jira configuration and usage.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for all infrastructure changes, configurations, and processes.
  • Provide user training and technical support to stakeholders, ensuring efficient adoption and use of Jira tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, collaborating with IT teams when necessary.

Job Qualifications

  • About 3 years of experience as a Jira Administrator or in a similar role, with expertise in configuring Jira projects, workflows, and schemas.
  • Strong understanding of mission analytics requirements and experience supporting analytical or data-driven teams.
  • Proficiency in managing Jira Service Management, Jira Software, and associated Atlassian tools (e.g., Confluence, Bitbucket).
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Jira Automation, ScriptRunner) to enhance functionality.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with governance frameworks and compliance standards within government or defense organizations is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and provide end-user support.
  • Active Secret clearance or higher is required.

Salary Range: $70,000 to $80,000
